Cross Touch 2009
The 11th July 2009 saw 15 teams from all over southern England battle it out for the Cross Touch 09 Social and Intermediate crowns (or in this case rather stylish rugby ball shaped trophies). The traditional summer weather (rain!) didn’t stop the creative sporting sparks fly on the pitches as everyone said the standard of play keeps improving year on year. It was newcomers the ‘Ruskies’ who dominated the social league and came away with the trophy and chocolates but it was ‘Something Witty’ who couldn’t be denied reclaiming their Intermediate champions title.
We want to thank the army of volunteers on the day who made it all happen but we have to say a special thank you again to Nathalie, Natalie and Sue who used their osteopathy and sports massage skills to keep many of us running around during the day. They gave their time for free and, through donations, we were able to raise over £110 for a charity called Adventure Plus (www.adventureplus.org.uk), which runs outdoor pursuit holidays for kids from tough backgrounds.
Cross Touch 2010 is set to be even better so we’ll look forward to seeing you then.
